Window Vents

0 questions

What are Visual Autowerks window vents?

Visual Autowerks window vents are vehicle-specific removable vent panels designed to provide additional airflow through your vehicle's windows while adding a functional, motorsport-inspired appearance.

Each application is designed specifically around the vehicle rather than using a universal design.

What are window vents used for?

Our window vents can be used for a variety of applications, including camping, overlanding, additional cabin ventilation, reducing wind buffeting, track and autocross use, traveling with pets, and general enthusiast use.

Optional mesh screening can also help reduce larger insects, leaves, and debris from entering the vehicle while the vents are installed.

Are the window vents sold individually or as a pair?

Window vents designed for front doors, rear doors, or coupe door windows are sold as a pair and include both the driver and passenger side vents.

Our 4Runner hatch vents are sold individually.

Please refer to the individual product listing for exactly what is included with your application.

Are your window vents universal?

No. Our window vents are designed for specific vehicle applications.

Always verify the year, make, model, body style, and generation listed on the product page before ordering.

How do the removable window vents install?

Installation varies slightly depending on whether your vehicle has framed or frameless windows.

For framed window applications, lower the window and position the vent inside the factory window frame. Carefully raise the glass into the channel along the bottom of the vent to secure it in place.

For frameless window applications, the vent sits directly on top of the window glass, with the glass seated inside the channel along the bottom of the vent. The top of the vent then rests against the vehicle's factory rubber weatherstripping, in the same area where the glass would normally sit when fully closed.

No permanent modification to the vehicle is required for our standard removable window vent applications.

Can I close my windows while the vents are installed?

No. The windows cannot be fully closed while the vents are installed.

The vents occupy a portion of the window opening, and the glass sits inside the channel along the bottom of the vent to hold it securely in position.

To completely close your window, the vent must first be removed.

This is also what makes the vents easily removable—you can install them when additional ventilation is wanted and remove them when you want to return the window to normal operation.

Why does my window automatically roll back down during installation?

Many newer vehicles are equipped with pinch-protection or anti-trap systems. When the window senses additional resistance while installing a new vent, it may automatically lower the glass.

This is normal on many vehicles and does not necessarily indicate an issue with the vent.

Depending on the vehicle, the pinch-protection feature may temporarily disengage after several attempts, allowing the window to properly seat into the lower channel of the vent.

My vents feel tight during installation. Is that normal?

Yes. A new set of vents can fit tightly during the first few installations. This helps create a secure fit within the window opening.

As the vents are installed and removed over time, installation will typically become easier.

Never force the window or vent if something appears incorrectly positioned.

Are the window vents compatible with tinted windows?

Compatibility with window tint can vary depending on the type, condition, and installation quality of the tint. Because of this, we cannot guarantee that our window vents will be compatible with all factory or aftermarket tinted windows.

We have had many customers use our window vents on tinted windows without any issues. However, due to the way the vents install—with the window glass seating into the channel along the bottom of the vent—contact with the glass is unavoidable.

Always use caution when installing and removing the vents, especially on vehicles with aftermarket tint. Avoid forcing or dragging the vent against the glass whenever possible.

Visual Autowerks cannot guarantee that installation or use of the window vents will not scratch, lift, or otherwise damage window tint. Use on tinted windows is at the customer's discretion.

Will the window vents work with rain guards or window visors?

Yes. Our window vents are generally compatible with both in-channel and stick-on rain guards/window visors.

Stick-on rain guards typically do not interfere with installation because they mount to the exterior of the door frame.

For vehicles equipped with in-channel rain guards, the fit may feel slightly tighter near the top of the window frame because both the rain guard and vent utilize space around the factory window channel. In most applications, the vents can still be installed normally.

As with any installation, make sure everything is properly aligned and avoid forcing the vent or window if excessive resistance is encountered.

Can I leave the vents installed while driving?

Our vents are designed as removable automotive accessories and can be used in a variety of driving and stationary applications.

Always make sure the vents are properly seated before operating the vehicle and use good judgment based on your particular application, driving conditions, weather, and vehicle.

Can I leave the vents installed in the rain?

The vents provide ventilation and are not designed to create a completely weatherproof seal.

Rain, particularly wind-driven rain, may enter through the ventilation openings. We recommend removing the vents when weather conditions could allow water to enter the vehicle.

What does the optional mesh screen do?

Mesh-screen versions include a barrier behind the vent openings to help reduce larger insects, leaves, and debris from entering the vehicle.

The mesh is not intended to provide a completely insect-proof seal, and we cannot guarantee that extremely small insects such as no-see-ums will be unable to pass through it.

Can I add mesh later?

Our mesh screen is installed between the layers of the vent during assembly.

Once the vents have been assembled, they cannot be easily separated to add mesh without modifying the product.

If you would like mesh screening, we strongly recommend selecting the mesh option when placing your order.

Are the vents safe to use with pets inside the vehicle?

Window vents can provide additional airflow and are commonly purchased by customers who travel with pets.

However, they should never be considered a substitute for proper climate control or responsible supervision.

Never leave a person or animal unattended in a vehicle when temperatures or conditions could become unsafe.

What are your window vents made from?

Our removable window vents are manufactured from ABS plastic and assembled in-house.

Depending on the selected configuration, they may also include mesh screening and your choice of available hardware finishes.

Where are your products made?

Visual Autowerks is based in the USA, and our window vents are built and assembled in-house using components produced specifically for our designs.

We've been developing enthusiast-focused automotive products since 2015.

Fitment & Vehicle Applications

0 questions

How do I know which vents fit my vehicle?

Use our Shop by Vehicle or vehicle fitment finder to select your year, make, and model.

You can also review the fitment information listed on each individual product page before ordering.

My exact vehicle isn't listed. Can you make vents for it?

We're constantly expanding our vehicle applications.

If your vehicle isn't currently available, feel free to submit a vehicle request. Customer interest helps us determine which platforms and applications we develop next.

Development may also require access to a local test vehicle for measurements, prototyping, and final fitment testing.

Can you make a completely custom set of vents for my vehicle?

We generally do not produce one-off custom window vents from customer-provided dimensions.

New applications require proper development, prototyping, and physical fitment testing before we're comfortable offering them for sale.

Will vents from a similar year or model fit my vehicle?

Not necessarily.

Small differences in window shape, trim, body style, model year, or vehicle generation can affect fitment.

Only purchase a vent for your vehicle if your application is specifically listed as compatible.

If you're unsure, contact us before ordering.

Floating Center Cap Conversion Kits

0 questions

What is a floating center cap conversion?

Our floating center cap conversion kits allow compatible wheel center caps to remain upright while the wheel rotates, creating the floating-logo appearance found on certain factory and aftermarket wheel applications.

Do the kits include the actual center caps?

Unless specifically stated in the product listing, our conversion kits are intended to convert compatible existing center caps and do not include the original branded center cap.

Please review the individual product listing for exactly what is included.

Will your floating conversion kit work with any center cap?

No.

Center cap construction varies significantly between manufacturers and even between different caps from the same manufacturer.

Our kits are designed around specific center cap sizes, attachment systems, and designs.

Can center caps with riveted metal retaining tabs be converted?

Generally, no.

Center caps using certain riveted metal tab-style retaining systems are not compatible with our standard floating conversion design.

If you're unsure whether your caps are compatible, contact us with clear photos of both the front and backside of the center cap before ordering.

Do you offer center cap conversion services?

For select center caps, we may offer an in-house conversion service where you send your compatible caps to us for modification.

Availability and turnaround time vary, so please refer to the applicable product listing or contact us for current details.

Are floating center cap kits returnable?

Due to the application-specific nature of our floating center cap conversion kits, these products are considered final sale unless otherwise stated.

Please confirm compatibility before ordering.

Ordering & Processing

0 questions

Are your products in stock?

Many Visual Autowerks products are built to order rather than pulled from finished inventory.

This allows us to support a large catalog of vehicle applications, configurations, mesh options, and hardware choices without limiting customers to only a small number of stocked applications.

How long does it take for my order to ship?

Most made-to-order products can require up to 10 business days for production and fulfillment unless a different processing time is displayed on the product page.

Processing time is separate from carrier transit time.

During periods of unusually high order volume, sales, holidays, or new product launches, processing times may vary.

Why hasn't my order shipped yet?

If your order is still within the processing timeframe shown when you placed your order, it is most likely still being manufactured, assembled, or prepared for shipment.

Because many of our products are built to order, receiving an order confirmation does not mean the item is sitting packaged and ready to ship.

Once your order has been completed, packaged, and labeled, tracking information will automatically be sent to you.

Does the processing time include weekends?

No.

Processing estimates stated in business days generally refer to Monday through Friday and do not include weekends or major holidays.

Do you offer rush processing?

Rush processing may be available depending on current product availability and production capacity.

If you need your order to ship sooner than our standard 10-business-day processing time, please contact us before placing your order to confirm whether rush processing is available for the product you need.

When available, rush processing is subject to a $15 rush fee.

Rush processing only expedites the production and fulfillment of your order. It does not upgrade the selected shipping method or guarantee a specific delivery date once the package is in the carrier's possession.

When will I receive tracking?

Tracking information is automatically provided once your order has been completed, packaged, and a shipping label has been created.

Please allow time for the carrier to perform the initial acceptance scan after receiving your package.

Shipping

0 questions

Do you ship internationally?

Yes.

International shipping is available to many countries.

Available shipping methods and rates will be displayed during checkout based on your destination.

Will I have to pay customs duties or import taxes?

International customers are responsible for any applicable customs duties, VAT, import taxes, brokerage charges, or other fees assessed by their country or the shipping carrier.

These charges are separate from the product and shipping charges paid to Visual Autowerks unless explicitly stated otherwise during checkout.

What happens if I refuse to pay customs charges?

Refusing customs or import charges can result in the package being returned to us.

Any refund issued after the returned merchandise is received will be subject to our return policy, including applicable shipping costs, return carrier charges, and restocking fees.

My tracking hasn't updated. What should I do?

Carrier tracking can occasionally take time to update, particularly around weekends, holidays, severe weather, or periods of high shipping volume.

If your package has gone an unusually long period without an update, contact us and we'll help determine the appropriate next step.

My order arrived damaged. What should I do?

Contact us as soon as possible and provide clear photographs of:

  • The damaged product
  • The exterior shipping box
  • Any visible damage to the packaging
  • The shipping label
  • The interior packaging

Please keep all packaging materials until the issue has been resolved, as the shipping carrier may require them for a damage claim.

Returns, Exchanges & Cancellations

0 questions

Can I return my order?

Eligible unused products may be returned within the return period specified in our Return Policy.

Products must be returned in new, unused, and resalable condition.

Certain custom, modified, or application-specific products may be excluded from returns.

Please review the individual product listing and full Return Policy before purchasing.

Do I have to pay return shipping?

Unless the return is the result of an error on our end or an eligible product defect, the customer is responsible for return shipping costs.

Original outbound shipping charges are non-refundable.

Is there a restocking fee?

A restocking fee may apply depending on the product and circumstances of the return.

Please refer to our current Return Policy for complete terms.

Can I exchange my vents for another vehicle?

If the vents are unused and eligible for return or exchange, contact us before sending anything back.

The customer is generally responsible for shipping costs associated with an exchange when the originally ordered product was correctly fulfilled.

Can I cancel my order?

Because many products enter our made-to-order production queue shortly after purchase, cancellations may be subject to a cancellation fee.

Contact us as soon as possible if you need to request a cancellation.

Once an order has shipped, it cannot be canceled and must instead follow the applicable return process.
